She’s Glowing: Shydeia Caldwell, founder of Black Girl Magik
Shydeia Caldwell discovered her calling when she was 21, creating Black Girl Magik, an international community dedicated to improving the well-being of Black women. This spirit-based brand now includes an educational platform called Sanctuary School, a podcast, and retreats. Caldwell says, “Magik is helping Black women everywhere rediscover their truth, identity, voice, purpose, and sisterhood while they heal as a collective.” The platform has been immensely successful since its launch in 2015, garnering widespread support, an interview with Oprah Winfrey, and sold-out tours. But Caldwell's greatest accomplishment is her ongoing research into ancient indigenous knowledge systems that "celebrate the relationship between the ancestors, the Earth, and feminine medicine." Her aim for this year is to broaden the reach of Black Girl Magik and continue its mission of global healing.
